General market trends

Between 2023 and 2025, the number of BREEAM certifications in Hungary increased by a total of 143%, clearly demonstrating the dynamic growth in demand for sustainable building certifications. The main driver of this growth was the In-Use category, which saw a 241% increase during this period, while the volume of new construction and refurbishment projects remained moderate but stable.

One in every three projects is delivered with our involvement

When analyzing the data, the first thing that stands out is our dominance in terms of volume. Across the entire Hungarian BREEAM market, Greenbors accounted for nearly one-third (29%) of all certifications. This represents 36 successfully completed projects in a single year, placing us confidently at the top of the rankings ahead of our competitors. This figure is not just an administrative success; it represents 36 buildings that demonstrably operate more sustainably with our contribution.

Balanced between new and existing assets

We are particularly pleased that our portfolio is well-balanced. Our 30.3% market share in the BREEAM In-Use (existing buildings) category, along with our strong position in New Construction (NC), shows that both developers and operators see us as a strategic partner.

Where quantity does not come at the expense of quality

However, the most important message of the statistics lies in the distribution of certification levels. The charts clearly show that the Greenbors name has become synonymous with higher certification ratings. Working closely with our clients, we have achieved an outstanding proportion of “Excellent” and “Outstanding” ratings.
