Greenbors Innovation Driving Sustainable Construction: Sustainabot Shortlisted for the BREEAM Awards 2026

Since its founding, Greenbors Consulting has been committed to making sustainability and green building certification processes more efficient, transparent, and commercially valuable for its clients. One of the company's most significant achievements in this mission is Sustainabot, an AI-powered digital assistant developed two years ago in collaboration with our technology partner, E-worker Technologies.



We are proud to announce that Sustainabot has been shortlisted for the Digital Sustainability Innovation category at the BREEAM Awards 2026. Being named a finalist is not only an important professional recognition of our development efforts but also a confirmation that combining sustainability with digital innovation can drive meaningful change across the built environment.


The BREEAM Awards is an internationally recognised programme established by BRE (Building Research Establishment), the organisation behind the world's leading sustainability assessment method for buildings. Each year, the awards recognise projects, organisations, and innovations that make an outstanding contribution to the development of a more sustainable built environment, improve people's wellbeing, and help protect natural resources. Winners and finalists are selected by an independent international panel of experts, making inclusion on the shortlist a significant achievement within the global sustainability and real estate sectors.



Green building certification schemes—whether BREEAM, LEED, or other sustainability frameworks—rely on highly complex documentation processes. A single project may involve reviewing hundreds or even thousands of pages of technical documentation against certification requirements. Traditionally, this work demands substantial expert resources, while repetitive document review increases the risk of human error.


Sustainabot addresses this challenge by automating the most time-consuming aspects of the process. Users simply upload the relevant project documentation, select the certification requirements they wish to assess, and the system automatically analyses the materials, identifies the relevant information, and highlights which requirements have been met and where gaps remain.



Based on real-world project experience, Sustainabot can reduce documentation review time by up to 74%, while improving the accuracy and consistency of assessments. Rather than replacing expert judgement, the technology supports sustainability consultants by taking over repetitive administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on high-value professional work and providing better support to their clients.


The platform currently offers comprehensive support for BREEAM certification processes, but its underlying technology has been designed to accommodate additional frameworks, including LEED, DGNB, and even the EU Taxonomy.


We are particularly proud that Sustainabot is a Hungarian-developed innovation that has already attracted significant international interest. Our active user base continues to grow, particularly in the United Kingdom, France, and the Benelux countries, serving professionals across construction, engineering, and environmental consultancy.


The story of Sustainabot reflects the philosophy that has defined Greenbors from the very beginning.
